Christian focus for iPhone

Put God first — before the scroll.

WordGuard guards the apps that pull you in, and turns that reach into a short, repeatable moment with God. Then you continue with intention, or you don’t open the app at all.

How WordGuard works

The habit you already have becomes the reminder.

The goal is not to stop using your phone. The goal is to put God first in a moment you already repeat.

1

Choose the apps

Pick the apps that most often steal your attention. WordGuard protects only what you select.

2

A shield appears

When you reach for one of those apps, Apple’s Screen Time shield asks you to pause first.

3

A moment with God

Read Scripture, pray, give thanks, be still, or reflect. The pause cannot be skipped once it starts.

4

Continue with intention

Open the app for a limited time, or stay protected. When the time ends, the shield returns.

Faith actions

You choose what the pause is for.

Scripture

A short public-domain passage, long enough to actually read.

Prayer

Thirty seconds with God. Amen waits until the time has passed.

Gratitude

Name one thanks. The words stay on your iPhone.

Be still

A quiet pause with Psalm 46:10. Breathe, and do not rush it.

Reflection

One honest question. You do not have to type an answer.

Keep one default, choose in the moment, check in with “How is your heart right now?”, or rotate Scripture and Prayer. The heart check-in is a spiritual prompt, not a health assessment.

Morning First

Start the day with God. The scroll can wait.

The first pause of the day is Scripture and Prayer together. Later pauses follow the style you chose for before you scroll. Protected apps stay shielded until that morning moment is complete.

Progress

A quiet record of moments with God.

Streak

A day counts when you keep one qualifying moment. The streak is encouragement, not a score to fear.

Scrolls avoided

When you finish the pause and choose “I’m good,” WordGuard counts a scroll you didn’t take.

Attention reclaimed

An estimate of intentional time, labeled as an estimate. WordGuard does not pretend to know exact screen time saved.

WordGuard+

The free app already does the whole loop.

Scripture, prayer, Morning First, and up to three protected apps are free. WordGuard+ adds unlimited apps, more pause lengths, and the fuller set of faith actions.

FAQ

A few honest answers.

Does WordGuard read my messages or what I do inside other apps?

No. WordGuard uses Apple’s Screen Time controls to shield apps you choose. It cannot read your messages, passwords, photos, or private content inside those apps.

What happens when I try to open a protected app?

Apple shows a WordGuard shield. A notification brings you into WordGuard for a short pause with God. When the pause is finished, you can open the app for a limited time or stay protected.

Can I skip the pause?

Once the pause has started, it cannot be skipped, canceled, or finished early. The time counts only while WordGuard is open. Leaving the app does not complete it and does not unlock the protected apps.

Which Bible translation does WordGuard use?

The first Scripture set is the King James Version, which is in the public domain. Other translations will be added only after their licenses are in place.
