Features
Guard the moment before the scroll.
WordGuard is built around one loop: a protected app, a pause with God, a choice to open it or stay, and protection that comes back on its own.
Before you scroll
You decide how that pause usually happens.
- One default: Scripture or Prayer, every time.
- Choose in the moment: “What do you need right now?” The timer starts after you pick.
- Heart check-in: “How is your heart right now?” WordGuard suggests stillness, prayer, Scripture, reflection, or gratitude.
- A small rotation: Scripture, then Prayer, then Scripture again.
Once the timer starts, there is no skip, cancel, or early finish. Time counts only while WordGuard is on screen.
Morning First
Morning First stays separate from the rest of the day. The first pause is Scripture and Prayer together. After that, WordGuard uses the before-you-scroll style you chose.
Unlock, then protect again
After a valid pause, WordGuard asks if you still want to open the app. “I’m good” keeps the shield and counts a scroll avoided. Opening starts a limited session for the protected apps. When it ends, the shield returns, even if WordGuard is not open.
What Apple allows
The shield is Apple’s screen, not a WordGuard screen drawn on top of another app. WordGuard sends a notification so you can open the pause. The app cannot see the contents of the apps you protect.
