Privacy policy

Last updated October 6, 2026. This policy describes the WordGuard iPhone app and https://wordguard.co.

What WordGuard is for

WordGuard helps you pause with God before opening apps you choose to protect. It is not a surveillance product. It does not read messages, photos, passwords, or the contents of other apps.

Screen Time

Protection uses Apple’s Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity frameworks. The apps, categories, and websites you select are represented by opaque tokens that stay on your iPhone. WordGuard does not turn those tokens into a list of app names stored on a server.

What stays on your iPhone

Your protected selection, pause style, Morning First setting, unlock timer, streak cache, and any gratitude or reflection text stay on the device by default. Gratitude words are not required, and they are not sent to product analytics.

Account and sync

You can use the core pause without an account. If you later sign in with Apple or an email link, WordGuard may store a profile, preferences, completion history, and streak data in Supabase so they can follow you to another phone. Journal text is synced only if you explicitly turn that on. You can delete an account from the app when that control ships, or by emailing support@wordguard.co.

Subscriptions

WordGuard+ is purchased through Apple. RevenueCat is the source of truth for whether a subscription is active. Apple and RevenueCat receive the purchase records they need to bill and restore. WordGuard does not receive your full payment card number.

Analytics

Product analytics may include events such as onboarding, permission results, pause type, duration, and subscription status. Those events must not include prayer text, gratitude text, reflection text, or other private spiritual writing.

The website

https://wordguard.co is a marketing site. It does not ask you to create an account. If you email support@wordguard.co, that message is used to answer you.

Children

WordGuard is a personal focus app and is not directed at children under 13.
