FAQ

Questions people actually ask.

Does WordGuard read my messages or what I do inside other apps?

No. WordGuard uses Apple’s Screen Time controls to shield apps you choose. It cannot read your messages, passwords, photos, or private content inside those apps.

What happens when I try to open a protected app?

Apple shows a WordGuard shield. A notification brings you into WordGuard for a short pause with God. When the pause is finished, you can open the app for a limited time or stay protected.

Can I skip the pause?

Once the pause has started, it cannot be skipped, canceled, or finished early. The time counts only while WordGuard is open. Leaving the app does not complete it and does not unlock the protected apps.

Which Bible translation does WordGuard use?

The first Scripture set is the King James Version, which is in the public domain. Other translations will be added only after their licenses are in place.

Does the pause work without internet?

Yes. Protection, the pause, and unlocking live on your iPhone. An account can sync settings later, but the core loop does not wait on a network connection.

What stays on my iPhone?

The apps you protect, your pause style, and anything you write in gratitude or reflection stay on the device unless you later choose to sync a journal. WordGuard does not send prayer, gratitude, or reflection text to analytics.

Is the heart check-in a health assessment?

No. “How is your heart right now?” is a spiritual prompt. It suggests a short pause such as prayer, Scripture, stillness, gratitude, or reflection. It is not medical, clinical, or counseling advice.

Which phones are supported?

WordGuard is an iPhone app. It needs Apple’s Screen Time permission. Android is not part of the first release.
